Representatives of the Centre for Development and Support successfully completed training about energy efficiency and became certified energy advisers. The training, organised by UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) was held in Osijek, Republic of Croatia.

Lecturers at this training were the eminent experts from the Energy Institute “Hrvoje Požar” from Zagreb, Machine and ship engineering faculty from Zagreb, Faculty of electro-technical engineering and informatics from Zagreb and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with an emphasis on the following topics:

- HEATING IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS

- VENTILATION AND COOLING OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS

- PREPARATION OF CONSUMABLE HOT WATER

- RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES IN HOUSEHOLDS

- ELECTRICITY IN HOUSEHOLDS

- ECONOMICS IN ENERGY SECTOR

- ENERGY CONTROL OF BUILDINGS

- COMMUNICATION SKILLS

At the end of the training, the attendants took the written exam, which was a condition for obtaining of an energy advisor certificate.

Energy advisors are trained to:

- perform energy control,
- classify the buildings into energy classes according to the valid EU standards,
- make thermal calculations,
- advise all future investors, designers and other construction stakeholders on achievement of maximum energy efficiency in the buildings, maintaining the level of comfortable stay in the building,
- develop economic estimates for justification of the investment into energy efficiency,
- hold educational workshops in the field of energy efficient construction as well as alternative and renewable energy sources
